Waste tire recycling becomes Mexico's new economic engine

2025-04-21

The global waste tire recycling market is experiencing explosive growth. According to data from the International Tire Recycling Association, more than 1.5 billion waste tires are produced each year, with a market size exceeding US$20 billion and an annual compound growth rate of 8%. Under this trend, Mexico faces severe difficulties in the treatment of waste tires. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, Mexico produces more than 2 million tons of waste tires each year, equivalent to 80 million car tires, but only 35% enter the formal recycling system, and 1.3 million tons are piled up into a "black pollution belt". These tires contain 0.3%-0.8% lead and 0.01%-0.05% cadmium, resulting in a 67% excess rate of heavy metals in the surrounding soil. The incidence of respiratory diseases in residents in the incineration area is 42% higher than that in the non-incineration area. The huge market gap needs to be filled.

Sure rubber seepage pipe production equipment has become the key to breaking the game with its advanced technology. The 1200 rpm crushing device of its pretreatment system can process 80kg of tires at a time, and the material is reduced to less than 5cm after 3 levels of crushing; the HRC60 hardness grinding roller grinds at 800 rpm, producing 1 ton of 120 mesh rubber powder per hour, and the production capacity is increased by 30%. The twin-screw mixer stirs at a high speed of 60 rpm, and the composition error is controlled at ±1.2%. The core extrusion link uses a 65mm diameter, 28:1 aspect ratio screw, with a 180-210℃ three-stage temperature control system, and is extruded and formed by a ±0.03mm precision mold. 22 kilometers of nano-permeable pipes can be produced in 24 hours, providing an efficient solution for the recycling of waste tires.

Compared with similar equipment on the market, Sure Plastic Machinery has significant advantages. In terms of energy consumption, 120 kWh of electricity is consumed for every kilometer of seepage pipe produced, which is 22% lower than the industry average, greatly reducing production costs; in terms of product quality, the seepage rate of the nano seepage pipe of 6 cubic meters per hour exceeds the industry standard by 100%, which can fully meet the drainage and agricultural irrigation needs of Mexican cities; in terms of equipment stability, the modular design extends the life of key components by 40%, reduces maintenance costs by 35%, and the value of the entire life cycle far exceeds that of peers, becoming a powerful weapon for market competition.

The demand for seepage pipes in the Mexican market is showing a blowout trend. In 2024, Mexico City invested US$620 million to transform the drainage network and bid for 1,100 kilometers of seepage pipes; Guadalajara plans to build 800 kilometers of agricultural irrigation pipes within 3 years. Industry data shows that the market size of seepage pipes in Mexico will grow from US$1.2 billion in 2020 to US$1.8 billion in 2024, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.8%. Sure Nano-seepage pipe won the Mexico City project bidding with its excellent performance and won a 300-kilometer order, demonstrating strong market competitiveness.

The dual benefits of environmental protection and policy safeguard the development of Sure Plastic Machinery. Every 100 kilometers of nano-seepage pipe produced can consume 2,100 tons of waste tires, accounting for 6.3% of Mexico's annual waste tires. Pilot data in northern Mexico showed that after using the seepage pipe, cotton irrigation saved 38% of water, 1.2 million cubic meters of water per thousand hectares per year, and the heavy metal content in the soil decreased by 23% within 3 years, and the rate of E. coli exceeding the standard in the water body dropped from 12% to 5%. Mexico's "Circular Economy Promotion Law" in 2023 stipulates that tire companies have a 40% recycling responsibility and give waste resource recycling companies a 15% tax exemption. Sure equipment has been certified by the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Guanajuato State cooperative factory has started the second phase of expansion, and the production capacity will be increased to 5,000 kilometers per year. Driven by the global environmental protection trend and Mexican policies, Sure Plastic Machinery is leading the waste tire recycling industry to new heights.
